About Me

For over 25 years, I have helped clients work through the obstacles that may be holding them back in life. I believe that everyone has the capacity to reach their full potential and live a meaningful, fulfilling life, regardless of their circumstances. I support clients in developing effective ways to navigate challenges, build resilience, and move toward their goals.

My approach also emphasizes cultivating self-compassion—helping clients gently understand and accept what cannot be changed, while focusing on what can be changed in order to live in alignment with their values. I am Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which informs my work in helping clients understand and heal different parts of themselves with greater compassion and clarity.

I am deeply passionate about my work and also value balance in my personal life. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing with my dog, reading, painting, practicing mindfulness, being outdoors, and traveling.

Thought-Emotional-Behavior Based Approach

Support That Makes a Difference

There are several different therapeutic approaches available in counseling for different needs, some aimed at individuals and others at couples, groups, or families. I use an integrative approach, drawing from a range of theories depending on each client’s needs and goals, including:

  • Psychodynamic Therapy – works well with deep-rooted issues, often stemming from childhood experiences, that influence recurring patterns in a client’s present life;

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – helps clients understand and heal inner conflicts by exploring different “parts” of the self, promoting self-compassion and emotional balance;

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – helps clients move past obstacles, identify personal values, and build a meaningful life despite challenges;

  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy – supports increased awareness of thoughts and emotions, helping clients respond more calmly and effectively;

  •

  • Attachment Theory – explores how early relationships shape current patterns in relationships and emotional connections;

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) – fosters feelings of safety, belonging, and self-compassion, particularly for those who experience high levels of self-criticism;

  • Play Therapy – used primarily with children to help them express emotions and experiences through play;

  • Person-Centred Approach – emphasizes the therapeutic relationship through empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, supporting the development of self-esteem and confidence.

What to Expect

There is an initial assessment session where I will work with you to understand your goals for therapy and identify the most appropriate approach to meet your needs. I will explain how the therapeutic process works and answer any questions you may have.

In addition to individual therapy, I also offer workshops designed to help you deepen your understanding and practical use of the tools and insights gained in sessions.
